About Me

I was born and raised in India and I would say that travel runs in my blood. My parents are travel enthusiasts who do not miss any chance to travel and see newer places in India or abroad. They gave me my travel genes and are my inspiration.  I have been fortunate to have an equally adventurous hubby and a cute little daughter both of whom share my passion for travel. Together we love to explore newer places, meet new people, taste different tastes and experience newer cultures. We have been lucky to have lived in 4 countries- Israel, South Korea, Japan and offcourse India, and by now we are sure that we can now live anywhere under the sun. Living abroad has made us adaptable, flexible and open to anything new, be it food, language or customs. Our stay in each country has made us better and wiser in some or the other way.

I firmly believe that "The Journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step". Our travels have strengthened my belief that travel is the best way to learn about the world.

Having said that, I am a Chartered Accountant and have worked for a few years in the Petrochemicals, Outsourcing and Pharmaceutical MNCs before I took a sabbatical to give more time to my family and join my hubby on his postings abroad. While I missed working, the sabbatical gave me more time to pursue my hobbies and travel the world. I am an absolute foodie, an avid reader and for me photography is a passion. Painting is another hobby for which I don't seem to find much time these days. I was always interested in writing but only after moving to Japan did I decide to try my hand at writing and creative expression and this blog is my first step towards my dream of becoming a writer, someday !

After living in Japan for 6 years, we moved out in 2016. But the time spent in Japan will always be close to our heart.

This blog is my attempt to understand the lifestyle, customs and culture of people across the world. I have experienced that since the time I decided to write a blog, my interest in learning the culture, language,  people and history of any different country has grown. I wish I had started blogging much earlier during my stays in Israel and South Korea. Through this blog I wish to share my learnings and experiences while living and travelling abroad.

Since moving to the US in 2016, I went back to work and these days I hardly find time to write. But that hasn't stopped us from travelling and exploring newer places whenever we find time.

Join me as I continue to explore the world with my family - one step at a time.....
