Nagasaki : Night Views of Nagasaki

Nagasaki's night views are considered to be one of Japan's best three views, the other two being Mt Hakodate in Hokkaido and Mt Rokko in Kobe. This view is called the 10 Million Dollar Night view !
Nagasaki's spectacular night view is the view from Mt Inasa, locally known as Inasayama. Mt Inasa is a 333 meter high mountain in the western part of Nagasaki city.
The view of the city from the observatory on top of Mt Inasa is spectacular. The observatory can be accessed by ropeway or by road. A 5 minute ropeway ride from the lower station takes visitors up to the summit. Buses run between the Nagasaki station and the ropeway lower station near the Fuchi shrine. Regular buses run from Nagasaki station to Inasayama bus stop from where the observatory is a 15 minute walk.

Ropeway operates between 9am and 10pm and costs 1200 yen for a round trip. Discount coupons are available online at http://www.nagasaki-ropeway.jp/pdf/English.pdf

The view of Nagasaki from near the upper entrance to the Glover Garden is also beautiful.

This is also economical since visitors can ride up the Glover Garden Skyroad elevator (not charged) to the top to see the night view. Glover Garden Skyroad is short walk from the Ishibashi stop on route 5 of Nagasaki Street Car.
